I got to choose my next work notebook from my small stash of Field Notes memo books today: a Leap of Faith edition.
Nelly yawning on the couch (I’m not used to catching the cats in action shots like this).
Listening to and watching a lot of The Tragically Hip music (lots of videos plus a station on youtube and a concert album released on the occasion of 10 years since their last performance).
The hollyhocks are holding on to summer even as the days are getting shorter - yesterday was the first sunset before 8pm.

Made a visit to Britzer Garten this evening and was happy to find out that the Dahlia Fire flower show started today. Took a first tour of hopefully many to one of my favorite spectacles of the garden year.
Sketched the people at the next table in the café today. Realized how hard it is to look at subjects without staring at them.
