The hollyhocks are holding on to summer even as the days are getting shorter - yesterday was the first sunset before 8pm.

Update 2026-09-20: there are still hollyhocks blossoming on this stalk almost another month later!

Made a visit to Britzer Garten this evening and was happy to find out that the Dahlia Fire flower show started today. Took a first tour of hopefully many to one of my favorite spectacles of the garden year.
