Didn’t go far for today’s drawing session on a day off for Pentecost Monday (Whit Monday) - sketched a top section of a corner house and tall trees in Prenzlauer Berg. After that a walk to and through Mauerpark.

Went to the west, took a late afternoon walk from Stuttgarter Platz to Schloss Charlottenburg, and sketched its dome from a bench with a front/side view as the heat of the day subsided.

Got out this afternoon to sketch the Volksbühne theater building and logo sculpture on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz from a bench viewpoint I found last week.

While sitting out front of the Neue Nationalgalerie museum watching the sunset I sketched a colorful sky study in my first attempt at the watercolor wet in wet technique.

Sketched flowers which look to be Geranium macrorrhizum ‘Ingwersen’s Variety’ from a bench on the corner square. They were attracting many bees. Afterwards took a walk under dramatic clouds and got to see the sun setting.

Viktoria-Luise-Platz was the subject of today’s drawing session. Sketched the trees and apartment house behind the gushing fountain from a bench among the lush fragrance of low lilacs. Then walked towards the sunset after browsing at KaDeWe and dining outdoors.

Missed our local streethenge sundown, late by a couple days this year (after last year’s on time cloudiness), but the view was still intense, however brief.

After rain and hail showers on the start of a four day (Ascension plus one day vacation) weekend, found a dry bench and sketched courtyard Hof IV of the Hackesche Höfe.

Went to the tram stop and stood under a roof as it was chilly and threatening to rain. Sketched people waiting for the next streetcar. My choice of pen brush for this drawing session took a little getting used to, but I like how it turned out - I’ll use it more, but better in bigger compositions.
