Went to two concerts in two weeks. Had perfect views of Tom Smith (from Editors) solo on acoustic guitar with beautiful baritone voice and accompanying musician tonight at the red brick church Passionskirche and Constant Smiles in the living room-sized Schokoladen last week Monday.

Spent the afternoon browsing (and getting a few) art supplies. Then saw the sliver Moon after dinner.

A crescent moon shines in a cloudy night sky above city lights and bare trees with the Berlin Fernsehturm in the distance bottom right

The forsythias are blossoming 🤩

Bright yellow forsythia flowers are blooming densely on a green hedge against a clear blue sky.

The first leaves are budding, but I have yet to see some forsythia blossoms…

Several budding leaves are emerging on a plant branch, set against a blurred background of residential buildings.Budding branches of a tree are silhouetted against a clear dusk sky.

Went downtown west center this afternoon to go Japanese stationery shopping - found and bought a Kakusta standing silicone pencil case for my urban sketching.

A white cat with brown flecks, Champi, sits on a desk next to a propped-up translucent silicone folding pencil case with various office items around.

Micro.blog’s RSS reader Inkwell is now my way to view feeds. When I sit with my iPad, the web browser has an always open Inkwell tab. Its Today tab loads new posts, my left thumb taps title cards, the right side of the screen shows the full entries, I read them, check back after a while and repeat.

Watched The Importance of Being Ernest, a Take Your Seats National Theatre at Home presentation, on a whim upon recommendation on YouTube this night - only available to watch for a week from today 🎭

The Shape of Paris by Brett Novak is my intro to the creative freestyle skateboarding of Andy Anderson. I appreciate flowing street style skating videos, and this one is not only a study of the athlete’s artistic and technical ability, but also a love letter to the city of Paris. (via kottke.org)

Finished reading: The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher - a new habit of mine as of this audiobook is reading on my weekend midday walks: very good, will continue 📚

Many cyclists (in groups or alone) on my midday walk. I plan to start getting out on my bike within the next few weeks as well…

Spent the sunny, warm day in Potsdam walking among the early flowers on the Freundschaftsinsel and the vibrant paintings at Museum Barberini in the Avant-Garde: Max Liebermann and Impressionism in Germany exhibition.

A historic building with a large green dome rises against a clear blue sky, surrounded by trees and smaller structures.A honeybee flies between purple crocuses with yellow centers that bloom amid brown leaves and soil.A large, leafless tree stands in a sunlit landscape, casting intricate shadows on the ground covered by crocuses.A large tree stands surrounded by a lush carpet of yellow and white flowers in a sunlit field.

There are snowdrops in our courtyard once again, with more flowers this year - today I caught a glimpse of them from the ground level.

A cluster of snowdrop flowers is growing at the base of a tree trunk on a patch of earthy ground.

‘All you need is a chair and a view’: could daily ‘dusking’ make us healthier and happier?

In the Netherlands, dusking, or schemeren, was once an everyday ritual, with families sitting together to observe the end of the day and the coming of night.

Right now as winter comes to an end I‘m nearing the dusktime during work, but I‘ll start walking around that time soon and see how it is - we often take night walks, which are nice, but I do love a good twilight…

Found a front yard full of my first flowers of the season (on today’s first day of meteorological spring): purple crocuses, snowdrops, and winter jasmine blossoms on a walk under fair weather clouds

Inkwell RSS reader by @manton (beta) is great, has got me reading through feed posts that I’d been skipping over elsewhere. The in-browser flow fits in well with Micro.blog-ing - I was wishing for a bookmarks/posting functionality, and it’s all there. However making highlights doesn’t work on iPad.

First outdoor café visits of the pre-spring season - 18C and sunny - and long walks downtown and back this weekend

Currently reading the audiobook: The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher - started listening a couple nights ago while the Champions League game Bayer Leverkusen - Olympiakos Piraeus (0:0) was on in the background 📚

With the books that were with me for 3 months due back in a couple days I’ve stumbled upon the Libby online library for Berlin and borrowed a number of titles including audiobooks like The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher and subscribed to a few magazines starting with The New Yorker.

Had the pleasure of seeing a small v formation of geese flying east over the street crossing this morning on the way to work.
